NEW FEDERAL REGULATION ON DATA COLLECTION AND RECORDKEEPING FOR INTERNET JOB APPLICANTS
Employers who are federal contractors and subcontractors should be aware of the new regulation that addresses the requirement for data collection and record keeping of job applicants' gender, race and ethnic identities to insure compliance with anti-discrimination and affirmative action obligations. NJ LAW JOURNAL RECOGNIZES CATHERINE FLYNN FOR HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Health care litigation attorney Catherine Flynn was recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal for her high level of accomplishment in the legal profession in the August 29, 2005, issue of the publication. Catherine is Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney and specializes in the defense of doctors and health care professionals in medical malpractice lawsuits. RULE PERMITTING COMPETITIVE CONTRACTING FOR ENERGY SERVICES REPEALED
Construction Law Attorney Edward J. Frisch, on behalf of the Mechanical Contractors Association of New Jersey, was recently successful in petitioning the State of New Jersey's Department of Community Affairs to repeal the section of the Administrative Code that ostensibly permitted the use of competitive contracting for energy services. The repeal of the rule protects the interests of mechanical and plumbing contractors by insuring that competitive bidding is employed for the solicitation of energy services contracts for all public projects covered under local and public school contracts law. Under the rule, which had been in effect for about two years, Energy Service Companies (ESCO's) were improperly advising school boards that the rule permitted them to circumvent the competitive bidding process by packaging mechanical contracting services as part of energy savings programs. ROGER SAUER TO ADDRESS INTERNATIONAL MUNICIPAL LAWYERS GROUP
Surety group partner Roger Sauer will be representing the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee of the American Bar Association when he addresses the International Municipal Lawyers Association at its annual meeting in Savannah, Georgia next month. Roger has been charged by ABA leadership with creating an outreach program to IMLA and like organizations. IMLA is the largest municipal lawyers group in the world. Its members counsel clients in disputes involving statutory contractors bonds. (August 2005)

BOB SCHWARTZ APPOINTED TO NJ SUPREME COURT COMMITTEE ON TAX COURT
Corporate and tax attorney Bob Schwartz has been appointed to represent the New Jersey State Bar Association's Tax Section on the Supreme Court Committee on the Tax Court for the current term. The Committee advises the NJ Supreme Court on procedural rules and other matters involving the NJ Tax Court. The Tax Court is an independent judicial tribunal specializing in the adjudication of all controversies under NJ tax law. (January 2005)
