Catherine Flynn joined the firm in February of 2003. She is formerly of Tafaro & Flynn, the New Providence-based complex medical malpractice defense and health care litigation firm. For the past 21 years, Catherine has been an active trial lawyer with a significant emphasis on professional liability, personal injury, employment, medical malpractice defense and health care litigation. She also provides legal counsel to individual and institutional clients on matters involving regulatory compliance, quality assurance and professional licensing board issues.
Catherine is a seasoned defense litigator, having taken more than 100 cases to trial throughout the state. The vast majority of these cases have involved significant damage claims relating to infant and adult brain damage, failure to diagnose cancer, wrongful death and sexual assault. She has also successfully argued cases before the Appellate Division.
A horse enthusiast, Catherine serves the needs of clients from individual horse owners to large farms in all aspects of Equine Law. She is a member of the American Horse Council and the New Jersey Horse Council.
In recognition of her trial accomplishments, Catherine has been elected an advocate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a national organization of preeminent trial attorneys. She was also appointed co-chair of the Essex County Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Practice Committee and a Master of the Seton Hall Law School American Inns of Court. She served on the District XII Ethics Committee. In 2005, Catherine was recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal for her high level of accomplishment in the legal profession.
Catherine is actively involved with her alma mater and was recently appointed to the Board of Regents at St. Peter’s College. As a Regent, she is serving on the Business Symposium Committee and on the College Women’s Initiative Steering Committee where she is the Chairperson of the Initiative’s Marketing Committee. Catherine also serves as a Trustee of the Trinitas Health Foundation Board.
