Portuguese line: 908-301-5655 imachado@lindabury.com As a member of the firm’s Education Law Group, Isabel Machado represents school boards in a range of issues, including employment and contract matters, labor negotiations and special education cases. She also practices immigration law, representing clients in employment-based petitions (H-1B visas) and applications for permanent residency and citizenship. In addition, Isabel practices matrimonial law, handling all matters relating to divorce, including child custody, child support and alimony. In 1998, Isabel served a clerkship with the Honorable Bradley J. Ferencz, in the New Jersey Superior Court, Chancery Division, Family Part, Middlesex County. While in law school, Isabel participated in the Eugene Gressman Appellate Moot Court Competition and in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. From 1991 through 1996, Isabel worked for the Prudential Insurance Company of America, as a Securities Accountant. Her duties consisted primarily of the accounting maintenance of long-term bond portfolios, as well as the preparation of statutory and tax investment reports in compliance with various insurance regulations. Isabel is active in the Portuguese-American community, where she is a member of the Elizabeth Portuguese-American Lions Club and the Elizabeth Portuguese-American Citizens Club. She is fluent in Portuguese. In 2008, Isabel was recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal and by NJBIZ as one of its ‘40 Under 40’. Bar Admissions: New Jersey, 1998 U. S.
