James A. Kellar is a 2007, magna cum laude, graduate from Seton Hall University School of Law. During law school, Jim was active on the moot court board, competing nationally three times. Jim was also a member of the Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law and worked as a teaching assistant in the school’s appellate advocacy program. During his third year, Jim handled cases in the school’s Center for Social Justice, including representing a number of civilly committed residents in an effort to obtain constitutionally adequate mental health treatment. Upon graduation, Jim was elected to the Order of the Coif.
As an undergraduate, Jim spent time working for defense contractors and think tanks in Washington, D.C. His op/ed piece was published in the Washington Times concerning China’s role in the dissemination of weapons technology.
Prior to joining the firm, Jim gained experience working in both the federal and state judiciaries. During his final semester of law school, he worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Dennis M. Cavanaugh in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. After graduation, Jim served as law clerk to the Honorable Ross. R. Anzaldi, presiding civil judge, Superior Court of New Jersey, Union County.
