She is formerly of Tafaro & Flynn, the New Providence-based complex medical malpractice defense and health care litigation firm. Marisa has experience in civil litigation, with a concentration in medical malpractice defense and professional liability defense. Marisa’s trial preparation experience includes deposing fact and expert witnesses, defending depositions of clients and experts, and preparing all written discovery responses. She also has prepared motions, negotiated settlements, arbitrated personal injury defense cases, and written appeals before the Appellate Division. Prior to entering private law practice, Marisa clerked with Judge Jared D. Honigfeld, Superior Court, Law Division. She is a member of the Schools Presentations Sub-Committee of the Union Vicinage Minority Concerns Committee. Marisa is fluent in Spanish. Marisa was recognized as a "Rising Star" in the area of Personal Injury Defense: Medical Malpractice by New Jersey Super Lawyers in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
