Rob Burney has been an attorney with the firm since 1985. He has concentrated his practice in business transactions, banking law, real estate, and health care law. He represents clients in the purchase and sale of businesses and business assets, the formation of business entities, and the debt and equity financing of businesses. He also provides general legal advice and serves as point of contact for many of the firm's business clients.
In his banking practice, Rob represents banks, insurance companies, and business clients in secured credit transactions, including residential and commercial construction, real estate financing, commercial credit facilities, maritime lending, and tax-exempt financing.
Rob's commercial real estate practice includes the purchase, sale, leasing, subleasing, and financing of industrial, office, and retail properties.
In his health care practice, Rob represents many types of healthcare providers, including physician groups and individual physicians, acute care and special hospitals, nonprofit healthcare agencies, and assisted living providers, in connection with mergers, consolidations, and acquisitions; group formation and dissolution; provider service agreements; managed care contracting; Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement; certificate of need and licensure matters; fraud and abuse and "Stark" issues; and the debt and equity financing of healthcare facilities. He has represented seven hospitals in their tax-exempt bond financings. Rob has also represented hospitals in some of the largest asset purchase and consolidation transactions to have occurred in New Jersey, as well as the privatization of a county-owned long term care facility.
