James McGlew and Fred D’Arcangelo are trained as family law mediators, and each have successfully mediated a significant number of divorce matters. Fred D’Arcangelo is also trained in collaborative divorce law, and welcomes cases in that new and growing field of divorce practice. We prosecute and defend actions for divorce, alimony, custody, visitation, child support, equitable distribution of property, children's rights, grandparents' rights, post-judgment matters, and actions under The Prevention of Domestic Violence Act. Our experience ranges from the complex divorce, which might involve the valuation of a closely-held business or professional practice and require forensic accounting and financial analysis, to the friendly adoption action. In addition to state court actions, we have extensive experience with Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA) and Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act (UCCJA) matters involving interstate support and custody issues in the federal court system. We pride ourselves on thorough preparation and effective advocacy with a view toward the resolution of disputes through the settlement process or litigation in a manner which is fair, just and compatible with the best interests and needs of our clients and their families. We also have extensive experience with drafting and enforcing both premarital agreements and family and property settlement agreements incident to separation and divorce. Our taxation and estate and trust attorneys assist our clients with tax planning and estate planning in advance of marriage, during the marriage, and after a marital dissolution. |
