Medical Malpractice
General Description: When it comes to Medical Malpractice, there is little reason for anyone involved to feel confident about overcoming the challenges that are being brought to bear on health care professionals. The juries ....the courts....the press....the legislatures...are all in their own way helping to bring the practice of medicine to a crisis point.
At Lindabury, we work tirelessly to overcome the challenges of this critical situation. Our malpractice attorneys vigorously represent the interests and rights of doctors, hospitals, health care institutions, nurses and other medical professionals in their defense against charges of malpractice, professional misconduct and institutional negligence. The value of our extensive experience has been proven consistently in the courtroom and in favorably negotiated settlements.
Our team is led by Catherine J. Flynn, Certified by the Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney since 1996. Over the last 16 years, she has gone to trial on more than 100 cases, the vast majority of the time obtaining favorable verdicts for her clients. A high percentage of these cases have involved significant damage claims relating to infant and adult brain damage, failure to diagnose cancer, wrongful death and sexual assault. Catherine is routinely asked by physicians prominent in their specialty to provide their malpractice representation.
Our malpractice attorneys have represented physicians in all specialties and sub-specialties of medicine; physician groups; hospitals and their employees; clinics and other health care facilities; and nurses, including nurses from nursing homes. They are skilled in all forms of dispute resolution. When needed, they make effective use of nationally and internationally prominent expert witnesses on behalf of their clients.
The team has significant experience representing hospitals and other institutions in matters involving professional negligence, regulatory compliance, quality assurance and professional licensing board issues. For our malpractice group, it is standard practice to work closely with the risk management department in preparing a successful defense in cases against hospitals and their employees. We also work sensitively and supportively with defendant employees to guide them through the uncertainty and emotional turbulence of litigation.
