Alexander Avellan is a results driven litigator who works with his clients to resolve civil litigation matters within the context of business considerations.

Alex is a graduate of Swarthmore College and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. At Cardozo, Alex served for three years as a senator for the Student Bar Association and was on the Executive Committee for the Latin American Law Student Association. He participated in Cardozo’s Intensive Trial Advocacy Program.

Alex has represented a variety of clients in general litigation matters. For example, Alex assisted in successfully litigating a Complaint in Lieu of Prerogative Writ on behalf of an aggrieved commercial tenant, which resulted in a remand back to a rent control board. Alex has also provided counsel to municipal entities in general litigation matters related to Title 59.

Alex also served as General Counsel for a non-profit focused on reentry services for court involved individuals. In this role, he oversaw a license restoration program and successfully represented clients in various municipal courts.
