{"id":580,"date":"2012-01-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-01-13T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/events-lindabury.blawgcloud.com\/1970\/01\/nlrb-extends-yet-again-employee-rights-posting-requirement.html"},"modified":"2025-02-05T11:39:05","modified_gmt":"2025-02-05T16:39:05","slug":"nlrb-extends-yet-again-employee-rights-posting-requirement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lindabury.com\/firm\/insights\/nlrb-extends-yet-again-employee-rights-posting-requirement.html","title":{"rendered":"NLRB Extends&#8230; Yet Again&#8230; Employee Rights Posting Requirement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Employment Law Newsletter<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier issue we advised that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nlrb.gov\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener\">National Labor Relations Board<\/a> (NLRB) had issued a final rule requiring most private-sector employers to conspicuously post a notice of employee rights to unionization in the workplace.\u00a0The posting requirement was to take effect on November 14, 2011, but in October the NLRB postponed the posting requirement until January 31, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Since then there have been several legal challenges to the NLRB\u2019s authority to compel employers to post a notice of unionization rights. Recently, a federal judge hearing one of the challenges advised the NLRB that she needed more time to consider the parties\u2019 briefs and oral arguments before deciding the case, and would enjoin the implementation of the posting requirement if the NLRB did not voluntarily extend the effective date. On December 23, 2011, the NLRB announced that it would adjourn the effective date of the posting requirement a second time, to April 30, 2012.
