Tony Pinto has joined Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper, P.C., as a Partner in its Westfield, NJ offices. Mr. Pinto concentrates his practice in the areas of environmental regulatory compliance counseling, environmental litigation, real estate development, transactional work and commercial litigation.
He counsels a diverse group of both small and large corporations, partnerships and individuals with respect to compliance with the myriad of federal and state environmental laws including RCRA, CERCLA, ISRA, OSHA, wetlands, the Solid Waste Management Act, the New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act and clean air and water legislation. Tony has extensive negotiation experience with the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection having negotiated complex Administrative Consent Orders.
In addition to regulatory compliance counseling, Tony has an extensive litigation practice and has litigated a variety of environmental and commercial matters in both federal and state courts. He has litigated matters in the areas of CERCLA cost-recovery, the New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act, real estate, environmental insurance coverage and toxic tort. He also routinely counsels clients in the area of white collar criminal defense.
Tony has published articles on various topics including solid waste management, RCRA and the regulation of water pollution. He is also a frequent speaker on environmental issues and has appeared as a guest lecturer on environmental insurance coverage law at Seton Hall University School of Law.
Prior to joining Lindabury, Tony was a Partner with Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP in Morristown, NJ in the Business Organizations Department and, prior to that time, with McCarter & English in Newark, NJ. Before entering private practice, Tony served as Law Secretary to the Honorable James J. Petrella, Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division in Hackensack, NJ.
