Mr. Pinto concentrates his practice in the areas of environmental law, real estate development and transactional work.
Mr. Pinto counsels clients with respect to federal and state environmental laws including RCRA, CERCLA, ISRA, OSHA, wetlands, the New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act and clean air and water legislation. He has extensive negotiation experience with the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. In addition to regulatory compliance counseling, Mr. Pinto has an extensive environmental litigation practice and has litigated CERCLA cost-recovery, New Jersey Spill Act, natural resource damages, environmental insurance coverage, condemnation and toxic tort matters. He also routinely counsels clients in the area of white collar criminal defense as it pertains to environmental matters.
Mr. Pinto’s real estate practice includes all aspects of real estate law with an emphasis on the acquisition, development and disposition of commercial real estate and commercial leasing transactions. He also coordinates the review of due diligence investigations in connection with the development or redevelopment of brownfield and other properties. He has successfully developed properties here in the United States as well as in the Caribbean.
Prior to joining Lindabury, Mr. Pinto was Counsel with McCarter & English in Newark, New Jersey and a Partner in the Business Organization Department of Schenck, Price, Smith & King in Morristown. Before entering private practice, Mr. Pinto served as Law Secretary to the Honorable James J. Petrella, Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division in Hackensack, New Jersey.
