Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper, P.C., began as the law firm partnership of Lindabury, McCormick & Estabrook in 1954. It was formed by Joseph S. Lindabury, Francis X. McCormick, and Kenneth L. Estabrook. After a brief stay in Newark, the firm relocated to Elizabeth, New Jersey, where it continued its general practice serving the legal needs of primarily closely held businesses and their principals. During this period the firm became a professional corporation, and it continues as such today.
Lindabury, McCormick & Estabrook continued its growth in Elizabeth until 1976 when it moved to larger offices in downtown Westfield, New Jersey. The expansion of its practice resulted in the growth in the number of attorneys working at the firm and necessitated the move to its current location at 53 Cardinal Drive, Westfield, New Jersey in 1989. Responding to the needs of its clients, the firm opened an office in lower Manhattan in 1999 and an office in Center City Philadelphia in 2006.
The early emphasis of the firm's practice was directed primarily toward serving of the legal needs of closely held businesses and the individual needs of the owners. While we have retained this emphasis, our client base has grown to include major health care providers, financial institutions, insurance companies, governmental bodies and municipalities, and Fortune 500 companies. The firm is retained by clients throughout the United States, as general outside counsel, local counsel, litigation counsel or special counsel in such areas as energy, public and private finance, environmental, taxation, real estate, securities and labor law. Today, the firm is highly regarded as a cost-effective alternative to larger regional and national law firms.
Over the years the firm has grown in many respects. In September 2006, Lindabury McCormick & Estabrook merged with Cooper, Rose & English of Summit, New Jersey. The Cooper firm was itself the result of a merger between Young, Rose, Imbriaco & Burke of Parsippany and Rumson, New Jersey, and Kerby, Cooper, English, Danis & Garvin of Summit. John W. (“Jack”) Cooper, Frederick W. (“Bud”) Rose and Jerry F. English are all of counsel with the present firm.
The combined firm, Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper, P.C. has 58 attorneys, more than 44 professional and support staff, and offices in Westfield, N.J.; Summit, N.J.; Red Bank, N.J.; New York, N.Y.; and Philadelphia, P.A. We have significantly expanded our professional and support staffs, and with it, our capability to serve the varied and increasing needs of our growing client base. Our ability to provide the personal service of a small firm while also offering the sophisticated capabilities of a larger firm make the firm a particularly good value as a provider of legal services.

We take great pride in our excellent reputation and our work product and remain committed to the goal of providing our clients with high-quality legal services at a reasonable cost, giving personalized and in-depth attention to their specific needs.
